Why Spamming Your MLM on Facebook Plain Old Doesn’t Work…

Building Your MLM On Facebook: Etiquette 101

Here’s the deal, this is my third article I’ve written about building an MLM business on Facebook. I’ve learned WHAT works, what KIND of works, and exactly what DOESN’T work. I’m about to share with you the DOESN’T work part of my experience, so let’s begin…

Don’t Spam Your MLM On Facebook

There’s no question that Facebook is the biggest social networking website on the planet bar none. You can find almost everything on Facebook, and believe me, some of it’s NOT pretty. What the best part is thought, is that there is a ton of niche markets on Facebook that are trying desperately to build their business, and MLM and network marketing are no exceptions. But one of the biggest misconceptions is that people who start trying to build their MLM on Facebook, think that they’re gonna have people joining their opportunity left and right. They’ll Spam they’re opp on their “friends” wall they’ll Spam it on the walls of MLM related groups, they’ll create “events” for business opportunities, and so on and so forth. Sorry to say, but those types of marketing don’t work! Tactics such as these are annoying for one, desperate, almost childish (the “mine is better than yours” mindset), and offer no true value of HOW to build your MLM.

Offer Value To Your Prospects on Facebook

Think about this for a minute. If your neighbor suddenly won the lottery, wouldn’t you be curious how he won it? Besides just being “lucky”, you’d most likely want to know how he did it. Did he pick his own numbers? Have a system, or just had the computer pick the numbers for him? I know I’d be a little curious if any of my neighbors did.

When it comes to marketing an MLM on Facebook, you should get the whole idea of “What’s in it for me?” thinking out of your head. MLM isn’t about me me me. It’s about helping your team of business partners successfully building their team, and so forth. Be a true leader when it comes to MLM by offering value that your team can use to duplicate their efforts so you can maintain a healthy downline.

I’d love to connect with you and answer any questions you might have about building a successful MLM.

All the best,

Monte Eggers

Finally, someone who shares my feelings about this issue! Kudos for bringing this to light my friend. There are too many people posting too many things annoying the masses and they do not get the fact that people have this option in Facebook to turn off all your posts anyways and out of 100 friends that you had, only 3-4 actually see the posts because they have turned the stomachs of many.

I am a firm believer in building teams and teaching them the important things NOT to do instead of telling them it will end positive by spamming people. If Leaders would step up, put away all the $5-$20 money games they play and stop falling for the “Latest Regurgitated” Garbage super hyped up videos, they could build a real income with just about anything they’re in.

I thank you for your comprehensive opinion on such an important subject my friend, keep it coming!

Thanks for reading Jon! You hit the nail right on the head with your statement about the “cheapy” programs that most anybody can afford to get into. Those types of programs are geared for those who jump at any opportunity and don’t understand that it’s not the program, but it’s them who are failing themselves. Again, thanks for reading, and please share this artivle with your network of people. 😉

I find it utterly amazing on how many people go for the hyper videos and the “pretty” websites? Some outsource the creation for around $20 and then trash their social site walls with it and just like sheep they line up for the “Lottery” that is the “Next Best Thing” and they take a $20 loss. It is utterly shocking.

What do you do about losing $20? Most dismiss it as it is minimal and low risk but if you add all the “Money Games” with the people whom fall for them, it adds up to someone somewhere getting pockets full of peoples money and then creating yet another Money Making Machine. It is quite frightening to me.

Me personally, I look at the compensation and if it does not fit the mold of me being able to actually help a person make money with it, I do not take a second glance.

There are too many scams out there that take the money and run and too many others that work for only those who are willing to do the same.

Programs that are legit work well if you don’t spread yourself thin with a ton of them and you actually match the work of others. Thanks again my friend.

    Hi Monte,

This is my first time commenting but I’m glad to be here. 🙂

From what I’ve seen so far your content is amazing and I totally agree about not spamming your opportunity all over people walls and groups.

As Leaders we need to help others with their own business until they trust us enough to enter our company and/or training program.

    Great Post Monte!

Thanks for reading and commenting Giles! You’re absolutely right.Build trust with your prospects, give thenm value, and they’ll buy when the time is right for them. And as always, call your prospects when they request info from you. It adds a little personal touch 😉

    Hi Monte,
Great article. I totally agree with you on this topic. The worst spammers on fb are the ones that are jumping from opportunity to opportunity and/or promoting 5 opportunities at once. And if you belong to some of the MLM groups you can easily spot these people. The other spammers I see are the ones that don’t use their real name to promote their biz. They register on fb for example as Guru Mlmer and that’s their name and then they use a logo for their profile pic. If they’re so afraid of exposing themselves as a real person they shouldn’t be in the network marketing industry. Plus as Todd Falcone always says it’s called Facebook not Logobook or Companybook. Once again great article Monte. Thanks.

You’re absolutely right Bart. People who are trying to build multiple businesses (aside from affiliate commissions) might find it difficult to fully concentrate on one business. Trying to keep track of who’s on your team and training webinars and so forth, could be hard to oeganize. That’s why I use a system to help me focus on my affiliate sales, AND my primary. Thanks for reading Bart, and please share this with your circle of friends 😉

I agree with Bart. I also find it annoying when people post the biz opp to my business page. I block them

    • December 7, 2011 at 10:17 pm

Thanks for reading my article Bonnie. Usually when somebody posts their biz opp on my pagg, I’ll usually leave a reply like, “How is this form of marketing working for you?”, or “This is exactly how NOT to market on Facebook.” Sometimes they turn into a lead or they don’t say anything after that. That’s why it’s best to be yourself 😉

The reason people spam is because they believe their product or service is that good. Otherwise they wouldn’t be spending all that time or effort. If someone is just pitching you the opportunity then that is a problem. They know nothing about me and why would I do business with someone I don’t even know anything about.
